Welcome

I've always loved the work of singer/poet Rod McKuen. Many years back, I hit a rough spot in life. You know... one of those times where depression set in, uncertain times. I was in a bad place.

At the time, I listened to the wonderful works of Jacques Brel, a French chanson. My girlfriend at the time, listened to Rod McKuen. She had read his works in her English class. We realized that Brel and McKuen had worked on pieces together. My interest sparked and I became a fan. Unfortunately, that girlfriend was the root of the dark time. I left her behind, but I took Rod with me (selfish as it may seem). He was the best thing to come out of that relationship.

I have to honestly say that what I love about that time period was the discovery of poetry and music that spoke to my soul. Sure, anything that can pull you up by the bootstraps out of a rough time deserves to be admired. However, the works of McKuen resonate to this day...almost a decade later. I am reminded that we all live and love. But above all, we're not alone.

In this project, I've assembled some of my favorite poems and lyrics. I present them to you as best I could.
